Gold, the face of opulence, is paired with jade green; fashioned in layers that connect at the hip line.
This rare, gold metal lace dress from the 1920s is hand embroidered on silk net in a winding floral pattern. Attached gold metal/jade green silk lame sash snaps together behind buckle.
Original crystal rhinestone buckle has all rhinestones present, though some have started to darken.
Buckle is curved and sits slightly off-center.
Lined in gold silk charmeuse - with an added 3" hem piece in ivory silk chiffon - underneath the dress.
Skirt has a small scalloped hem.
Newer netting at shoulders is synthetic.
The dress slips over the head with no closures.
This dress has a beautiful patina throughout.

*This dress is wearable, with care.  This is a very fine, silk net fabric, which is delicate by nature, and all the more so with metal embroidery!  This dress is far too heavy to be stored on a hanger; it should be stored in an acid-free box.

Meant to be worn loosely; recommended for a size Medium.  Measurements are taken flat, doubled as necessary.  These are garment measurements and you need to allow room for body movement.

Bust  38"
Waist  34"
Hip  38"
Length  52"
Shoulders  15"

Amazing condition!   Some loose embroidery threads; the metal wrapped threads will easily catch the netting.  There are repairs to the net and small breaks as well; a layer of netting was added behind the front skirt, probably for modesty, but is not full length. Silk lining has started to shatter and has some staining, but doesn't show through the netting; the added hem piece has shredded in a couple places.
